The federal government assists unemployed Nigerians in becoming employers of labor through the National Directorate of Employment. (NDE).

Lawan Yaya, the NDE’s Bauchi coordinator, announced in Bauchi on Saturday while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria. (NAN).

The federal government is, at the very least, focusing on helping unemployed young people become self-employed by implementing various interventions.

40 out of 100 beneficiaries of a recent NDE entrepreneurship training received loan packages ranging from N250,000 to N500,000, and they are now operating serious businesses.

“93 participants were recently trained in agriculture by the NDE’s Rural Employment Promotion Department, and each received a loan package worth N100,000.”

Some of them purchased cows, while others engaged in crop production; others were involved in the value chain of agriculture and had already hired some laborers, according to Mr. Yaya.

He continued by stating that some of the recipients of N60,000 each under its Extended Special Public Works organization organized a cooperative society and pooled their funds to buy cows.

According to him, they butchered the cows three months later to get bigger seeds.

We have seen young entrepreneurs who received loans and have already started hiring employees, so I say this because the Industrial Training Fund invited me to join their program, he said.

Another organization that aids and supports jobless teenagers in becoming employers is the CBN’s Nirsal Microfinance Bank, according to Mr. Yaya.

“If you look at the Bank of Agriculture, they are also a progress partner.”

Some NDE trainees who were turned down for loans by the directorate were connected to the bank and are now able to get loans there, he said.

He advised people who had received assistance from the federal government to seize every opportunity.
