The following requirements must be met to join the Nigerian Navy. If you don’t meet the requirements listed below, you won’t have a chance to be shortlisted.

  • The applicant must have been born in Nigeria.
  • A minimum of 5 credits from the SSCE, GCE, NECO, and NABTEB must be obtained in no more than 2 sittings.
  • School certificates cannot be more than six years old as of the application date.
  • By September 30, 2023, applicants for the SSCE and its equivalent must be between the ages of 18 and 22.
  • A prior criminal conviction by a court of law is not permitted for applicants.
  • By 30 September 2023, applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 26 for entry requirements such as NCE, diploma in sportsmen’s or sportswomen’s studies, imam’s or chaplain’s ordination, and drivers’ or mechanics’ licenses.
  • The National Identification Number (NIN) and the Bank Verification Number (BVN) are required of all applicants.
  • Male and female applicants cannot be shorter than 1.69 meters and 1.65 meters, respectively, in height.
  • It is NOT acceptable for applicants to submit applications if they have any of the following medical or physical issues: stammering, communicable diseases, ear, sight, or ear problems, or any other physical disability. It is also forbidden for applicants to apply if they have tattoos.
